Our Sisterhood program is central to the mission of Breast Connect. We provide those affected by breast cancer with access to someone who has already been through a similar situation. Those who have participated in our program found the experience to be empowering, educational, and reassuring.
Currently, this program is only available for those who reside in East Tennessee.
Breast Connect matches newly diagnosed patients with breast cancer survivors/thrivers based on very specific criteria. We collect information from both the patient and the survivor/thriver, such as the type of breast cancer, surgeries, treatment plans, and family details. The information is then used to find the best match possible.

Our sister survivor/thriver volunteers want to pay it forward and help those following in their footsteps. They are dedicated to being a positive influence by listening, encouraging, sharing their own experiences and providing information. While our volunteers are certainly not doctors and cannot provide medical advice, they can provide examples of what worked and what did not work for them – everything from courses of treatment to communicating with friends and family about a breast cancer diagnosis. They do not have all of the answers, but they are happy to share wisdom gained through their experiences. The newly diagnosed can use this wisdom to help them understand the journey that lies ahead of them, make more informed decisions and reduce stress.
